NYFW F/W 2013 Day One Recap

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2013 kicked off today.

Amongst the runway shows piloting the week’s fashion

spectacular were Richard Chai Love, Tadashi Shoji 

and BCBG Max Azria.

Here is a taste of what to expect this fall:

At Richard Chai Love F/W 2013 the palette 

was mostly dark and somber, but was off set by bursts

of violet and purple, and softened with the occasional floral.

Shoulders were structured and lines were clean, 

and the outerwear was supreme.

Tadashi Shoji’s fall 2013 collection took inspiration

from the designer’s sojourn in St Petersburg,

and his immersion into the art, culture and history of this beautiful city.

From billowing peasant dresses that Shoji imagined 

the royal family wearing to escape

the revolution in, to cossack power reds, 

fabrics were textured and beautiful.

Tadashi Shoji is known as a red carpet favorite.

At BCBG Max Azria Fall 2013

the focus was on sexy outerwear.

Long billowing coats, artfully layered

and multi textured,
