My hair tends to be quite dry so I am well versed in using really good conditioning treatments and masks. I first heard about this one on a huge shoot last summer in the Hamptons. I wasn’t familiar with the Colleen Rothschild line at that time but I am A) a product junkie and B) obsessed with hair products that smell amazing. So this was meant to be.
Back in late February I wanted a new hair mask/deep conditioning treatment. I read the endless 5 star reviews for the Colleen Rothschild Quench and Shine Restorative Mask from customers from all over and decided to give it a try.
Then this happened…
I wanted to give it at least 90 days before writing about these so that I had ample time to see how they performed over the longer term. I am going to talk about the skincare products I ordered in a separate post. (They are fabulous!)Today I want to focus on the hair products because really this is where it all began.
I tried 2 hair products, the gorgeous smelling Quench and Shine Restorative Mask and the Smooth and Shine Hair Serum.
Quench and Shine Restorative Hair Mask
The Quench and Shine Restorative Mask can be used every time you shampoo or you can use it as needed. It reduces frizz, nourishes and hydrates and is like giving your hair a long, cool drink of water on a hot day. I’ve been using it every week as a deep treatment.
Apart from the bounciness of my hair, it is softer, more manageable and definitely less frizzy. I find many of deep treatment hair masks are heavy on the hair and actually make my hair look dull after a couple of days. This one is weightless and your hair maintains its glossiness. It is great for all hair types too.
A quick pro tip for protecting your hair at the beach or in the pool: wet your hair with bottled or tap water (not ocean or pool water) and comb through Quench and Shine Restorative Mask. It will fill the cuticles, protect your color, and stop your hair from getting dried out. This is a summer lifesaver for your hair.
Colleen Rothschild Smooth and Shine Serum
I have naturally very curly hair, but not pretty curly hair. Left to its own devices my hair looks like a really bad home perm gone wrong. It holds a blowout like no other, but I always need to add product to it. I have been really happy with the Smooth and Shine Serum. It is quite concentrated, so I don’t need much. It definitely keeps the frizz and the fly-aways under control and it gives such a lovely, glossy shine. I apply it to damp hair before blow drying but you can also use it on dry hair.
If you have frizzy or unruly hair or if you just like using smooth and shine products on your hair then you already know there is a fine line between getting your hair manageable and having it weighed down. I have found over the past 3 months of using this one that it not only smells gorgeous but also is lightweight and doesn’t make my hair feel heavy or sticky.
