The Perfect Cheek Trio

cream blush and highlighter

In my makeup artist life I am obsessed with creating a perfect complexion, and perfect cheeks.

To me the perfect cheek has a subtle glow of highlight, always with a cream product, never with a sparkling powder.

I love to highlight, or create a soft glow cream products like Marc Jacobs Glistening Illuminator Spotlight 700 or Memebox’s I’m Multi Stick Highlighting Luster Beam. I add a little depth below the cheekbone with a tiny bit of Memebox I’m Multi Stick Shading, and I always seal the deal with a gorgeous, glowing cream blush. From Nars, to Mac to Charlotte Tilbury to Memebox – I can’t get enough.

I just received an order from Memebox with a re-order of these three products (and a ton of skincare products!). I’ve been using them for a while now, both in my pro makeup kit and on myself. They are my favorite thing! And at $15 each they don’t break the bank. They’re called I’m Multi Stick, and they are multi purpose products.

I have some coffee table books on my nightstand at the moment, Dior Couture from Rizzoli, Nasty Galaxy by Sophia Amoruso, and Love Style Life by Garance Dore

Snail Bee Essence – Major New Skincare Product!

I want to tell you about a new Korean skin care product that I am obsessed with!

Actually it’s not a new product,  it’s just new to me. It’s called Snail Bee High Content Essence, and it is a powerhouse product with a serious wow-factor!

I’ve been told that essence is the most important step in Korean skin care and that it is the secret to Korean women’s flawless skin.

Essence treats skin on a cellular level, diving down deep, deep, deep to deliver powerful ingredients that revitalize your skin, hydrate, brighten, and prep your skin to receive and maximize the benefits of your moisturizer. Essence is applied after cleansing, before moisturizing.

The Snail Bee High Content Essence combines snail mucin and bee venom to boost hydration, boost collagen production, increase elasticity and brighten your complexion while rejuvenating and promoting cell renewal. It is very concentrated, a small amount goes a very long way, and it really delivers the goods.

It took me a long time to get on board with using a product called snail mucin on my face! In fact I went out of my way to avoid it, right up until one of my aesthetician friends got some and raved about how amazing it was. Her skin looked better than ever, so I decided to try it out. I started with Scinic’s All In One Snail Ampoule ($22), which was perhaps the most life changing skin care product I have ever used. And costs a mere $22!!! Recently one of my girlfriends told me she had added the Snail Bee High Content Essence into her daily skin care, and her skin has never looked better, so I had to get some too! I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I love it.

I order both these products from Memebox, which is wear I buy all my Korean skin care products. Memebox is based in Palo Alto California, so each order arrives in 3-5 days. The cost of these products is unbelievable – they are so inexpensive!

Let It Glow, Let It Glow, Let It Glow! 3 Products For Luminous And Radiant Winter Skin

During fall and winter your skin tends to look a little flat and dull.
Bronzers typically look orangey and somewhat odd on winter complexions, and most highlighters look shimmery or glittery and make your winter skin look crazy.

On my speaking tour for Luca Magazine I talked about adding glow to your complexion, and I’ve had so many messages from ladies in my audience asking me to go back over the products I talked about.

I posted last week about the gel bronzer that I use every single day,
read about it here. Today lets look at the three products I swear by and use both myself and in my pro makeup kit to make the complexion glow:

3 Amazing Products For Luminous And Radiant Winter Skin

Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow

I’m crazy about this product! When I want an all over glow to the skin, not as a wet look, but a healthy gleam that looks like sunshine beaming out from within, I use Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonderglow
It doubles up as a pre-makeup primer, or on days when I don’t feel like wearing makeup I wear it alone.
Available online at $55

Marc Jacobs Glow Stick Spotlight 700

I love this one for running highlight along cheekbones, collarbones and shoulders. Highlight shouldn’t be sparkly, it should illuminate and radiate, and this product makes the skin luminous and glowy.
The stick form makes it easy to swipe it across the skin, but I prefer to use a duo fiber makeup brush. You can apply the Marc Jacobs Glow Stick Spotlight 700 either before foundation or after, (or both!), and can make it a subtle glow or ramp it up to a super sheen – you’re in charge!
Available online at $42

Radiance Glow Hydrating Starter

At  half the price of the others the Pony Effect Radiance Glow Hydrating Starter brightens and illuminates the skin, giving it a gorgeous glow while hydrating it and minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. It also acts like a primer, smoothing the skin and readying it for foundation. You can wear it alone or under makeup.
This product sells out quickly. If you like it order a second one sooner rather than later.
