The Zoe Report Box Of Style Spring 2017 Review

I absolutely love the Zoe Report Box Of Style.

Zoe Report Box Of Style

I’ve been getting it since nearly the beginning – I missed the first two boxes of style. I actually found out about it because I had googled the best cross body handbag for summer and up came this amazing white leather cross body bag that was just perfect. It was amazing. And it was in the Zoe Report Box Of Style, which of course was completely sold out.

I didn’t want to miss out on anything so cool again, so I got myself a subscription. The Box of Style comes out at the beginning of each season, and is filled with key items that you need for a season of chic, all curated by Rachel Zoe and her team of experts. The box has a value of $400+ but only costs $99.99. Each season has a “hero” product that is worth a minimum of $100, but typically seems to be worth more. (This season’s Box Of Style Hero item is valued at $238). It does sell out each season, but now Rachel Zoe makes some extra, so if you are quick you can probably still get one.

Zoe Report Box Of Style

Hello Gorgeous!

I have this theory that as women we work so damn hard, have so many pressures on us from work, running our homes and families all while trying to stay fit and healthy (and sane). I live my life perpetually exhausted. And I seldom take time out for myself or buy myself special things, so when my Box Of style arrives it is a really big deal! It feels like a reward. I love opening it. I love exploring all the fabulous things inside. My friends always ask me about it, and tell me to write a blog post about it, so this time I took photos and am sharing the Box of Style with you.

Tribe Alive Custom Carryall Retail Value $238

Tribe Alive Zoe Report

Handwoven in India with leather handles and cross body shoulder strap. Fabulous.

This bag was made exclusively for the Zoe Report Box Of Style by Tribe Alive, a company that empowers women from India, Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras to rise above poverty in a safe environment, hand-making products with fair trade wages. Read more about Tribe Alive here

Adornmonde Ivo Earrings Retail Value $62

Zoe Report Adornmonde

You can choose these earrings which are  modern take on the hoop, in either silver or gold (I chose silver). They are extra cool because you can separate them and wear them as bars, or as paired bars and hoops. Super chic.

Symbology Scarf Retail Value $50

Zoe Report Symbology

I never used to wear scarves, but now that I spend so much time in Europe, where the scarf is part of the daily uniform, I wear them all the time. This one from Symbology is another exclusive collaboration with Zoe Report. Symbology teams up with women in India and Palestine, preserving their cultural art forms from Indian block printing to Palestinian weaving, while creating fashion forward items.

The women are paid fair trade wages, enabling them to provide for their families while working in a safe environment. Check out this video about the company, and read more about them here

Tatcha Polished Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder Retail Value $65

Tatcha Powder Exfoliator

I died opening this one! I have loved Tatcha products for years. I have written about the company and their products more than any other, because they are so special, and I love them SO much. Tatcha’s founder Victoria Tsai studied Geisha beauty rituals and replicated them in these incredible, high performance products. This one lets you remove winter’s dull residue from your complexion ever so gently, and lets your spring skin shine through. You will love this! And to make it better, it’s full size – the box of style doesn’t do trial size. See more about Tatcha here.

BKR Glass and Silicone Water Bottle Retail Value $35

BKR Glass and Silicone Water Bottle

This is the antidote to the cheap plastic bottle. No evil chemicals can leach into your water when you use this stylish bottle, and the silicone sleeve insulates and protects the bottle inside. Using the BKR refillable water bottle reduces the insane waste of disposable plastic bottles in landfills and oceans. Love it!

Butter London Nail Polish in Piece of Cake $18

Butter London Nail Polish

I was reading that Butter London is the first company to make healthy nail lacquer. Who knew? All I know is that their products are fabulous, and after a long winter wearing heavy deep dark colors it is so refreshing to wear this gorgeous twist on a light, spring neutral.

Bonus product:

The Stella Artois Chalice (Buy A Lady A Drink)

Stella Artois and Water.org have collaborated here to Buy A Lady A Drink. 663 million people around the world lack access to safe water, a problem that disproportionately affects women because they are the ones spending millions of hours collectively per day, collecting water for their families.

Stella Artois and Water.org have partnered with this chalice to help give some of that time back. Each chalice sold provides 5 years of clean water for 1 person in the developing world. Read about it here.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while then  you already know I am crazy about the Zoe Report Box Of Style.

It is literally the coolest thing ever.

Rachel Zoe curates a luxe box of style essentials for each season – items that anchor your season. From killer handbags, to huge jewelry pieces to makeup and skin care, clothing items, lifestyle items – you will not even believe this box! I get super excited waiting for the new box to ship. Not only are the goodies inside to die for, but the packaging is just gorgeous. Opening my Box of Style feels like a reward for working so hard all the time. It makes me feel special and it makes me feel spoiled.

Amongst all the other goodies there is always a hero item in each box that is worth $150 – $200. In the winter 2016 Box Of Style the hero piece was a completely fabulous Dylanlex necklace worth $200! Beyonce is a big Dylanlex fan, but unless she ordered a Box of Style she won’t have this piece because it was designed specially for Rachel Zoe.

Zoe Report Winter Box Of Style

I wore mine all winter long! In the image above you can see we got a full sized Sunday Riley Tidal cream, a leather business card holder (super cool), the lip shade of the season from Clinique, a really cool winter beanie (you got to choose the color, I chose merlot), a full size DL & Co birch scented candle as well as a small bottle of Viva Juicy eau de parfum. Awesome, non?

Box of Style Winter 2017

The spring 2017 Box of Style is getting ready to ship and Rachel Zoe has been teasing some of the items we will be getting. This time every product is from a female owned company.

The hero product is a sustainably produced black and white carryall from Tribe Alive, handmade by female artisans in India.

“Without meaningful employment these women could have fallen into the sex trade epidemic which runs rampant in the communities we work,” shares Tribe Alive founder Carly Burson.

The bag provided skills training and fair wages to the ladies who made them.

“Our partnership with Tribe Alive yielded a beautiful handbag while providing five months of employment for more than 150 Indian artisan partners in three cities. From the weavers in Panipat to master tailors and leather workers in Delhi to the logistics team in Jaipur, this bag positively impacted every link of the supply chain. That’s truly a wow factor.”

7 Beauty Mistakes French Women Never Make

Do you follow The Zoe Report?
I get it in my inbox every day.
And I’m obsessed with the Rachel Zoe Box Of Style, in fact while I am sitting here writing this I am wearing the new lipstick that came in my winter Box of Style, and the chic birch candle that came with it is sitting on my desk smelling all Christmas-sy and reflecting perfect golden light up onto my face, although there is no one here to be wowed by it!

I adore the French girl beauty aesthetic. Frenchies are so effortlessly chic and have far too much panache to ever get on board with any of the manic makeup trends on Instagram, so they never look like cariacatures of themselves – they just look gorgeous!

The following article is from The Zoe Report

7 Beauty Mistakes French Women Never Make

Feeling French?

tom-ford-lipstick

Don’t: Get Lipstick On Your Teeth

French women live in red lipstick, but somehow never get it on their teeth (the ultimate makeup faux pas). The secret? Once you apply it, place your index finger in between your lips, then pucker to blot off excess.

Don’t: Wear The Wrong Foundation Shade

Our favorite Parisians never seem to have that unsightly line of foundation across the jaw that shows just how different their makeup is from the color of their neck. Instead of piling on a thick layer of product, they prefer a dewy, natural-looking complexion. Swap your high-coverage foundation (especially if it doesn’t perfectly match your skin tone) for something a bit more sheer. That’ll ensure that it blends better and looks impossibly fresh.

Don’t: Overpluck Your Eyebrows

The easiest way to look more French is to lay off the tweezers for a while. While their brows are usually grown out, that je ne sais quoi is all in the grooming, so make sure to comb strays into place with a spooley brush.

Don’t: Go Overboard With The Contouring

You’ll never catch a French women with a nose contoured to perfection and cheekbones that shine like the sun. They know just how to work with what they’ve got and highlight their assets in a natural-looking way. Instead of layering multiple highlighters to get a shine, use a face oil on the high points of your face to look like you were born with perfect features.

Don’t: Go To Sleep With Makeup On

If you’re wondering how our Parisian pals can get away with stepping out in barely any makeup at all, it’s because they take really good care of their skin. Think about that the next time you curl into bed with your makeup on.

Don’t: Fry Your Hair

Instead of heat styling your hair to death (literally, it kills your hair), embrace your natural texture. Apply hair oil to settle the frizz and your natural curl, wave or straight hair will look trés chic always.

Don’t: Wear A Chipped Mani

Have you ever seen a French girl with chipped nails? Neither have we. Don’t take shortcuts when giving yourself a mani. Apply a base coat before your color and a top coat to seal—it’ll ensure that your polish stays put and looks shiny longer.
