LEA – Such A Lovely Thing Music Video

This year I plan to post more of my makeup work here on the blog.

My “real job” is being a makeup artist. For those of you new to this blog, my workdays are filled with photo-shoots, commercials and celebrity work. I teach a pro makeup artistry program, spend my Saturdays doing weddings, and on top of all that I am also the Beauty Director for Luca Magazine. When I talk to you here on the blog about makeup and skin care products I am actually talking about things I use both in my pro makeup kit and also in my personal stash. (Which is why I talk about the same products over and over rather than constantly chattering about something new for you to buy.)

I also take groups of women on private tours of Italy, known as The Glam Italia Tours.

Anyway, back to blogging, this year I plan to show you more of what I do.

Today I want to show you a music video with recording artist LEA, that I did the makeup on. The song is Such A Lovely Thing, and the video just launched yesterday.

We had several makeup looks in this video, but this one was my favorite. There are more look at the bottom of this post.

I have worked with LEA for years and years. Not only is she fun to be with, she is also a triple threat – fabulous model, songwriter and performer.

Think Pink!

Are you bored to tears with the grey, bleak, never ending winter?

No problem – let’s jump ahead to spring! There is a hot trend for spring 2017 that is guaranteed to give you a big dose of happy, it’s the return of pink.

Big, bold, beautiful, in your face pink.

Whether are making a statement with your outfit, or whether you are using it as a statement color to accessorize, it’s time to brighten up and think pink!

I just ordered a Tory Burch Fleming handbag in pink. I can’t wait for it to arrive.

Here are some other cool pink handbags for spring.

Mules are everything this season.

Maybe you want a pink lip to compliment your pink-wear, or maybe your lip is your only nod to the hue for spring. Here are some shades to perfect your pout.

My favorite spring item is the trench coat. Not so much here in Phoenix where it’s always too warm, but everywhere else I travel to. I always think they look so chic. I love them dressed up and I love them with jeans and a t shirt. They are the perfect transition piece. This one is from

Badgley Mishka, and I found it on sale at Nordstrom for $119! See it here: Faux Leather Trim Badgley Mishka Long Trench

The Perfect Cheek Trio

cream blush and highlighter

In my makeup artist life I am obsessed with creating a perfect complexion, and perfect cheeks.

To me the perfect cheek has a subtle glow of highlight, always with a cream product, never with a sparkling powder.

I love to highlight, or create a soft glow cream products like Marc Jacobs Glistening Illuminator Spotlight 700 or Memebox’s I’m Multi Stick Highlighting Luster Beam. I add a little depth below the cheekbone with a tiny bit of Memebox I’m Multi Stick Shading, and I always seal the deal with a gorgeous, glowing cream blush. From Nars, to Mac to Charlotte Tilbury to Memebox – I can’t get enough.

I just received an order from Memebox with a re-order of these three products (and a ton of skincare products!). I’ve been using them for a while now, both in my pro makeup kit and on myself. They are my favorite thing! And at $15 each they don’t break the bank. They’re called I’m Multi Stick, and they are multi purpose products.

I have some coffee table books on my nightstand at the moment, Dior Couture from Rizzoli, Nasty Galaxy by Sophia Amoruso, and Love Style Life by Garance Dore
