Don’t you just love spring?? I adore it.

I’m getting ready for an enormous amount of overseas travel right now. I have 3 Glam Italia Tours kicking off in late May, and before that I’m going to Belize on a makeup job, so every thought at the moment is all about travel, what to pack, what to wear, how to feel chic. With that in mind here is my April 2017 Coveted List. The anchor piece is this gorgeous pink denim jacket from J Brand. Don’t you think it’s amazing???

J Brand Harlow Distressed Denim Jacket in Teaser. How perfect is this color?? Spring never looked so good! I am totally obsessing over this shell pink denim jacket. The cut is super chic too. This is a jacket that you can wear all through spring and summer. Obsessed. I found this on online at Revolve.com

Stuart Weitzman Slidealong Loafer Mule in Bisque Suede Flat mules are huge for spring! This Stuart Weitzman mule looks killer with a cropped jean, a skirt or a dress. It’s the perfect shoe for the season! Find it at Nordstrom.com

Diptyque Candle in Roses. The medley of roses used for the fragrance are exquisite. This candle will leave your home redolent with the scent of an English garden in June. It’s fresh and beautiful and absolutely the candle for spring! I found this one on Space NK.com

Canon SELPHY Portable Photo Printer. I journal every day on vacation, and always wish I had a portable printer so that I could instantly print pics and glue them into my journal. Most portable photo printers seem to only offer 2×3 prints. This canon SELPHY prints 4×6 photos. I found it online at BestBuy.com

Charlotte Tilbury Overnight Bronze And Glow Mask You just cannot beat a golden glow for spring and summer! This overnight mask not only gives you a glorious bronzed beachy look, it also hydrates your skin and makes your complexion glow. I haven’t tried this one yet, but Charlotte has never let me down, so I have full faith that it’s fabulous! Find it online at CharlotteTilbury.com

Chloe Carlina Oversize Round Glasses. I have been looking everywhere for oversize round sunglasses. I found these 62mm round sunnies at Nordstrom.com. I’m not sure that there is an extraordinary amount of glare blocking in these glasses, but there is 100% UV Protection. And they look sooooo cool!!

Reves de Sabine Petal Lip Balm Sabine’s handcrafted all natural products are organic with no parabens, no synthetic ingredients, are not tested on animals and are incredibly lovely. Her company is based in Ventura California but ships everywhere. You can find her at RevesdeSabine.com

The Water Cream by Tatcha. I absolutely love Japanese luxury brand Tatcha, and have written about them many, many times! Tatcha just came out with The Water Cream, a super hydrating, oil free, anti aging moisturizer that is just glorious for oily and normal skins. My skin is dry, but when I go to humid places I switch out my heavy moisturizer for something light and airy that still packs a power punch of nutrient rich botanicals. If you are oily or if you live or travel to humid places then you will understand how important it is to have skin care that leaves you looking poreless and fresh!

5 Beauty Mistakes You Are Making In The Shower

When you get home after a 12 hour plus day on set and your back and shoulders are aching (makeup artist syndrome) almost nothing feels better than standing in a scalding hot shower and letting that torrent of water just beat down on you.
Multiply that by 100 when its freezing cold outside!

But did you know that taking hot showers is bad for you?
Chances are there are several mistakes you are making in the shower, here are 5 of them:

1. The Water Is Too Hot

As much as super hot showers feel totally amazing, they are terrible for your skin. Hot showers dry your skin out (which makes your tan disappear extra fast), can make your scalp flake, and make your hair color dull quickly!

2. Using A Loofah

You may love buffing away your dead skin with a loofah each day, but guess what? Loofahs really are not hygienic. All that dead skin, dirt, grime and bacteria that you have scrubbed away gets trapped inside the loofah, so each time you use it you are re-distributing germs and heaven-only-knows-what-else back all over your body.
Technically, the bad stuff could make its way into any nicks or cracks in the skin and at some point set off a nasty infection.

3. Shaving Your Legs First

Shaving anywhere when you first get in the shower is not a good idea. Ideally wash everywhere first, then shave. This way the warm water and steam have time to soften the skin and the hairs so that you can get a smoother shave with less irritation and fewer ingrown hairs.

4. Conditioning Your Hair Last

Conditioner and hair masks need to be in your hair for several minutes before rinsing out.
Ideally shampoo when you first get in the shower, load your hair up with conditioner or deep treatment, and let it do it’s thing while you wash and shave, then rinse it out last.

5. Using Bubbly Products

We are trained to think that shampoos and soaps that suds up and get all foamy are the way to go when in fact they are stripping our skin and hair. The more bubbles there are, and the more product you are using, the more you are drying out your skin.
Stick to soaps that have moisturizers in them and that have a low lather factor.
